Mission Statement
To be the leading community resource for providing patients and their families with compassionate physical, emotional, and spiritual end-of-life care, with comfort, dignity, and respect.
Who We Are
Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. (HOSC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care for individuals and families across Orange, Sullivan, and parts of Ulster Counties. Founded in 1981 by three community nurses and officially established in 1988, we have grown into one of the region’s most trusted healthcare providers.
For over 25 years, we’ve held The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval®, a symbol of our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of care. Our team-based approach provides comfort and dignity through home hospice, inpatient care at hospitals and nursing facilities, and our Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh—one of the few free-standing inpatient hospice facilities in New York State.
We care for the whole person and their family, offering medical, emotional, and spiritual support. Our services extend beyond the bedside with free bereavement counseling and grief support groups for adults, children, and teens, as well as specialized programs for veterans, including bedside visits, recognition ceremonies, and our Honor Salute Program.
